Delhi : OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, has achieved 100 million weekly active users. He also unveiled the new GPT-4 Turbo model, which is more powerful, less expensive, and supports a 128K context window. Speaking at the company's inaugural developer conference here late on Monday, he claimed that in the two months after its inception over a year ago, the site has amassed an estimated 100 million monthly users.

He informed the developers that the platform is used by over two million developers, including more than 92% of Fortune 500 businesses. GPT-4 Turbo can fit more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt thanks to its 128k context window. "We also optimised its performance so we are able to offer GPT-4 Turbo at a 3x cheaper price for input tokens and a 2x cheaper price for output tokens compared to GPT-4," the business stated.

The business is also introducing a new version of GPT-3.5 Turbo, which by default supports a 16K context window, in addition to GPT-4 Turbo. In order to assist developers in creating agent-like experiences within their own applications, OpenAI has published the Assistants API. "An assistant is a specially designed AI that can summon models and tools to do tasks, has particular instructions, and makes use of additional information. The business stated that the new Assistants API offers additional features such function calling, code interpretation, and retrieval.

A text-to-speech API with two generative AI model versions and six pre-programmed voices is being released by OpenAI. With the text-to-speech API, developers may now produce voice from text that is human-quality. The first charge is $0.015 for every 1,000 characters entered. The firm stated that developers may include DALL·E 3, which was just released for ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise subscribers, directly into their apps and solutions.
