As a result, the price of its predecessor, the Google Pixel 6a, has seen a significant drop. The Pixel 6a can now be purchased for Rs 27,999, a straight price reduction of Rs 16,000 from its original price of Rs 43,999.

Last year, the Pixel 6a was launched in India with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It gained popularity as one of the top mid-range smartphones, offering excellent quality at an affordable price. Critics lauded its design, display, camera performance, battery life, and software. According to Counterpoint Research, the Pixel 6a sold over 10 million units worldwide in the third quarter of 2022, solidifying its position as one of the market's most popular smartphones.

Considering its impressive camera capabilities and previous success, the Google Pixel 6a priced at Rs 27,999 is a worthwhile option for those seeking a reliable smartphone in the sub-Rs 28,000 range. However, for those willing to spend a bit more, the newly launched Pixel 7a is worth considering. It is available at Rs 43,999, but with bank offers, it can be acquired for an effective price of Rs 39,999. Since the Pixel 7a now occupies the same price range as its predecessor, it makes sense to choose the latest model unless budget constraints are a concern.

The Google Pixel 6a, launched in July 2022, provided an affordable entry point to the 5G experience. Powered by Google's in-house chip, the Google Tensor, it delivered smooth performance and an enhanced user experience. The phone featured a 6.1-inch display, a 4410 mAh battery with 18W wired charging, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. It ran on Android 12 at launch and was upgradeable to Android 13.
