Delhi : We've been advised for years that the best method to make our online accounts unhackable and deter hackers is to create a strong password that consists of unique characters, digits, and alphabets. People often forget strong passwords, which may be quite annoying and prompt them to change them.

How are passkeys used?

Passwords may remain in use for a while even if they're a huge improvement since new technologies take time to become widely adopted. Because of this, users will still have the option to log in with a password and may disable passkeys by turning off "Skip password when possible."

Not a headache

One of the most obvious advantages of passkeys, according to our research, is that they relieve users of the burden of having to remember so many digits and special characters when creating passwords. They said that they are immune to phishing.

Google says to stop using complex passwords. Greetings from the realm of "passkeys," which are unique numbers that allow you to access your banking applications and GPay. It claims that accessing your Google accounts faster and with greater security is possible with the passkey mechanism.

"To unlock your smartphone using passkeys, simply use a pin, facial scan, or fingerprint. According to Google, it will be 40% quicker than using passwords. They use a kind of encryption that increases their security," senior Google officials stated.

Passkey creation and usage prompts will appear the next time you log into your account, making subsequent sign-ins easier.

You will soon be able to use a new button named "Skip password when possible" on all of your Google accounts, thanks to the digital services business.

We introduced support for passkeys earlier this year, which is a more straightforward and safe method of logging into your accounts online. In a blog post announcing the new development, Google's Sriram Karra, Senior Product Manager, and Christiaan Brand, Group Product Manager, wrote, "We're making passkeys even more accessible by offering them as the default option across personal Google Accounts today because we've received really positive feedback from our users."
