Delhi : A new premium mid-range SoC from Qualcomm has been unveiled. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC has been introduced by the firm as its new chipset for smartphones in the upper mid-range. If you're wondering, the answers are no, there weren't 7+ Gen 1 SoCs or 7 Gen 2 SoCs. Without disclosing the vanilla version, Qualcomm has outright unveiled the Plus version of the 7 Gen 2 SoC. According to claims, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC outperforms the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC by 50%.

The newest SoC from the Snapdragon 7 series uses three clusters. Three performance cores, four efficiency cores, and one prime core make up this processor. An unnamed Adreno GPU exists, which also states that it will outperform the GPU in the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Processor by a factor of two. Let's examine each feature and improvement made to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC.

Coming Soon: Phones featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC

The list of smartphones equipped with the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC has been confirmed by Qualcomm. Based on a 4nm technology, the new premium mid-range SoC is new. According to Qualcomm, the performance of the 7+ Gen 2 SoC is up to 50% better than the 7 Gen 1 SoC. The SoC has a 1 + 3 + 4 cluster configuration with a maximum clock speed of 2.91GHz.

The remaining cores' clock speeds were kept a secret by the corporation. There is also a mysterious Adreno GPU that is said to provide two times the performance.

According to claims, the SoC has a 13% increase in power efficiency over the last generation. It offers auto variable rate shading, which uses significantly less power and renders foreground gaming scenes in excellent resolution.

An 18-bit Triple ISP has been added to the SoC's ISP, which is said to boost low-light camera performance. Up to 200MP camera sensors and simultaneous HDR video recording from two cameras are supported by the 7+ Gen 2 SoC. The SoC also supports 4K panels with a 60Hz refresh rate or QHD+ displays with support for up to 120Hz.

A Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System with a maximum download speed of 4.4 Gbps is available for 5G support.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo and Realme GT Neo 5 SE, which had been rumoured for a while, are confirmed to have the latest 7+ Gen 2 SoC. The latter's introduction is set for later this month. According to rumours, POCO will also introduce the F5 5G with the new Snapdragon 7 series Processor.
