New Delhi : In the never-ending YouTube war, T-series defeats PewDiePie and become the most subscribed channel for 5 minutes. India's biggest music brand overtook PewDiePie run by a Swedish Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg but slides back to No. 2 position.

The T-series vs PewDiePie has been going on for more than six months now. This is the second time when the former outrun the latter in the game of numbers. Previously, on February 22, T-Series held the top spot for about eight minutes.

Estimating the possibility of T-Series becoming the biggest channel on YouTube, the company recently ran a campaign on social media with #BharatWinsYouTube. The Chairman and MD Bhushan Kumar himself requested fans to subscribe to T-Series’ YouTube channel via a video. “We’re on the brink of becoming the world’s biggest @YouTube channel. We can make history. We can make India win. Subscribe to @TSeries #BharatWinsYouTube,” Kumar had written in a tweet. A host of artists from the Hindi and Punjabi music industries have made the same request in the last couple of days through their social media handles.

It has been noticed that every time T-Series closes in on PewDiePie, the latter’s legion of followers gang up to keep it behind. Some even go to the extent of hacking printers, Chromecasts and defacing the Wall Street Journal.

To mention, PewDiePie has been ruling YouTube for more than six years now. The rapid rise of T-Series has been threatening his position constantly. The Indian channel is currently lagging behind by nearly 28,000 followers.
