Delhi : One of the most popular electric automobiles on the planet is the Tesla Model Y crossover. The Model Y electric crossover is the second best-selling vehicle from the US automaker after the Tesla Model 3. With the most affordable prices for the Model Y series to date, Tesla has now unveiled an even more affordable variant of the Model Y.

The least expensive Tesla Model Y comes with a black synthetic leather interior and a white paint motif on the exterior at a price of $49,990. The EV's sticker price maintains it under the federal government's newly revised $7,500 EV tax credit ceiling, perhaps allowing it to receive the full benefit. Tesla has not yet stated, however, whether the new Model Y variation will be eligible for the EV tax credit.

The cheapest Tesla Model Y electric crossover version, which is expected to use the automaker's 4680 battery cells, guarantees a shorter range on a single charge. In essence, the new Tesla Model Y variant is the company's Standard Range model. According to Tesla, the new model's single-charge range is 450 kilometers, compared to 531 kilometres for the Long Range model and 487 kilometres for the Performance model. The least expensive Model T, however, has an all-wheel drive system with dual motors, unlike the Tesla Model 3. Model Y is the name of the new version, as can be seen on Tesla's official website.

Introducing a less expensive Model Y is nothing new for Tesla. Previously, the US electric vehicle company released a less expensive crossover that had 4680 battery cells and was made in Giga Texas. Although it wasn't officially featured on the website, it was briefly offered in the market. This time around, though, Tesla has formally advertised the vehicle on its website and made it accessible to all US customers.
