Delhi : WhatsApp is finally going to allow users to send original-quality photographs across the messaging service. There are presently three photo quality selections available: Auto, Best quality, and Data saver. However, the chat software still compresses the image to enable speedier data transfer, even at the highest quality. Many people find this annoying, especially if it's crucial to send the photograph at its original quality. A recent report claims that the chat service owned by Meta is finally planning to offer a fix for this.

The chat app is developing a new feature that will enable users to send photographs in their original quality, according WaBetaInfo. The upgrade was initially discovered by the website in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.2.11.

There will apparently be a new settings icon added to WhatsApp's drawing tool header. A photo can be sent in its original quality or the sender can choose the photo's quality. The function is still being worked on, though, and will be released in a subsequent version.

While WhatsApp's ability to transfer photographs in their original resolution sounds amazing, there is a storage-related problem that has to be resolved if you don't want your phone to soon run out of space. Compared to original quality photographs, compressed images are smaller in size. In order to deliver messages more quickly, the chat software compresses images by up to 70%. The recipient's phone may quickly run out of storage if they choose to send original resolution photographs over an app.

Make sure that WhatsApp's media auto-download is disabled if you want to avoid this. When the phone connects to the Internet, this stops the images from downloading automatically. Instead, if you wish to download pictures, the choice is yours.

Voice note status updates are reportedly being developed by WhatsApp. Users can record and exchange voice memos in the Status.
