New Delhi : India is home to the finest automobile companies, and the country recently left Japan behind to take the third spot among the largest vehicle markets after China and the US. With a myriad of automobile companies in the Indian market, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has won the trust of consumers and buyers. Especially the SUV segment of M&M with XUV 700 and the launch of Scorpio N have made it the most preferred automobile company for SUV lovers.

Engineered with the best automobile parts, the SUVs from Mahindra & Mahindra have witnessed robust growth. The automotive company recently announced its overall auto sales for December 2022 which stood at 56,677 vehicles. In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra had sales of 28,333 SUVs in December 2022.

For the passenger vehicles segment, the sales were 28,445 as of December 2022. As per the sales revealed by Mumbai-based home-grown UV maker, the company registered 62 per cent YoY growth. In the same period in December 2021, M&M sold 17.469 sport utility vehicles. Out of 28,445 units sold in December 2022, SUVs led the race with 28,333 units and the sales of passenger vehicles were 112 units.

Mumbai-based car dealer Karan Asrani feels that the Scorpio family and XUV 700 helped the company in augmenting its sales. The entrepreneur and owner of Krishna Group of Companies is overwhelmed with the terrific sales of SUVs by M&M in 2022. He says, "The customers have shown a great interest in the UV segment which kept the demand on the rise throughout the year. As a dealer of M&M, we had massive sales, and the waiting period was more than a year."

With an overall growth of 45 per cent, Mr. Asrani further added, "The more availability coupled with the company's robust strategy to supply vehicles have helped M&M to have its dream run in the Indian automotive segment. As a dealer, we are already excited to keep the momentum high for 2023."

Apart from this, Mahindra has added five new variants in the Scorpio-N line-up which include Z2 G MT E, Z2 D MT E, Z4 G MT E, Z4 D MT E and Z4 D MT 4WD E. The prices of these new variants begin at Rs 12.49 lakh and go up to Rs 24.05 lakh, ex-showroom. On a parting note, Karan Asrani revealed that their order books are already full, and there will be many SUVs people will get to see on the Indian roads and highways this year.
