Google's AI chatbot, Gemini, expands to over 150 countries

New Delhi : The Gemini app, an AI-powered chatbot developed by Google, is now available in over 150 countries and territories, including India. Launched on February 8th for Android users, the app is now accessible in English, Korean, and Japanese.

According to Google, the expansion aims to bring the benefits of AI-driven conversations to a wider audience. Currently, there is no dedicated iOS app for Gemini, but iPhone users can access it through a toggle within the Google app.

To use the Gemini app, Android users require a device with at least 4GB of RAM and Android 12 or later. iPhone users with iOS 16 or later can access Gemini through the Google app. The app is currently available in English, Korean, and Japanese.

The global rollout of Gemini began on Thursday and is expected to continue over the next few days. Users need to be signed in to a personal Google Account or a Workspace account with the feature enabled by the administrator.

Google has addressed some user concerns regarding image uploading and generation, as well as the clarity of Gemini's capabilities compared to Google Assistant. Improvements are expected in these areas.
