Moto Edge 40 Neo vs iQOO Z7 Pro: A battle of performance under Rs 25,000

Delhi : The MediaTek Dimensity 7030 SoC-powered Moto Edge 40 Neo is the first smartphone in the world to make its debut in India. Along with that, the phone has a number of appealing features like a OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, an IP68 classification for water and dust resistance, and a 5,000mAh battery. The phone's initial pricing in India is Rs 23,999.

Is it the strongest smartphone available in this market? To evaluate it, we chose to compare the Moto Edge 40 Neo to one of the strongest competitors in its class, the iQOO Z7 Pro (review). Reviewing the important SoC specifications of both smartphones will help us better understand how the Moto Edge 40 Neo and the iQOO Z7 Pro compare in terms of performance. Both smartphones score extremely similarly on Geekbench, a tool that gauges how quickly a gadget can accomplish a certain activity. To give some context, the single-core and multi-core tests yield scores for the Moto Edge 40 Neo of 1,048 and 2,548 while the corresponding tests for the iQOO Z7 Pro get results of 1,181 and 2,682 points. The Motorola smartphone appears to be slower than iQOO in terms of job completion, though not by a wide margin.

AnTuTu v10

The iQOO Z7 Pro performs far better than the Moto Edge 40 Neo on AnTuTu. This is primarily caused by the Motorola smartphone's absence of a GPU score. The Edge 40 Neo's GPU performance could not be measured by AnTuTu for whatever reason, giving it a low score of 4,40,956. On the other hand, the iQOO Z7 Pro scored an outstanding 7,13,965.

CPU Throttle

The Moto Edge 40 Neo maintains 70% of its peak performance in the CPU Throttle test when running 50 threads for 30 minutes. The iQOO Z7 Pro, in comparison, keeps 93 percent of its peak performance. Due to its superior performance under prolonged stress, the iQOO smartphone has an edge over its rival.

Gaming

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) to test the performance of the Moto Edge 40 Neo and the iQOO Z7 Pro. I used 'HDR' graphics and a 'High' frame rate option to play the game on both devices. Although I was able to play the game on both devices, the iQOO Z7 Pro offered a better gaming experience. This was partly because to the device's powerful vapour chamber cooling system, which kept the device cool even after 30 minutes of intense gaming. The Moto Edge 40 Neo, on the other hand, occasionally stuttered and heated up a little.

Verdict

With MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, the Moto Edge 40 Neo and iQOO Z7 Pro are both formidable competitors in their respective segments. The iQOO Z7 Pro outperforms the Moto Edge 40 Neo in terms of benchmark results and sustained load capacity, despite the Moto Edge 40 Neo's respectable performance. Additionally, the iQOO Z7 Pro stands out for gamers because of its enhanced gaming experience made possible by its effective cooling system. The choice of which gadget to purchase over the other depends on your individual preferences and usage habits. If you play video games or use your computer frequently, the iQOO Z7 Pro should be your first choice. If you're a regular user, the Moto Edge 40 Neo should function perfectly well.
