4000 luxury cars like Lamborghini, Bentley sink in Atlantic

New Delhi : A cargo ship carrying more than 4000 luxury cars including Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsches, Volkswagen and several high-end electric cars sunk in Atlantic Sea. The ship had caught fire.

The ship was going from Germany to the US when it caught fire mid way and sunk in the Atlantic Sea.

It is not clear why the ship has caught fire. However, a report said that the lithium-ion battery in cars on-board the ship were the reason behind the fire.

The ship management company, MOL Ship Management Singapore, said the ship sank about 253 miles off the coast of the Azores, an archipelago in the mid-Atlantic that's an autonomous region of Portugal.

While the cars could not be saved, all 22 crew members on the ship were evacuated to safety.
