Coronavirus cases in China over 1 million per day, death rate at 5000: Report

Beijing : China has been dealing with a massive coronavirus wave these days, the criticality of the situation can be assessed by the fact that more than 1 million cases per day are coming in the country. 5,000 people lost their lives in a day.

The new estimates were provided by London-based Airfinity, which predicted cases to continue to rise in China with two likely peaks, one in mid-January and the second in early March.

The situation may get worse in China where more than 1.4 billion people have their homes. According to a research firm, this daily number of infection can go up to 3.7 million per day by January. There'll likely then be another surge of infections that will push the daily peak to 4.2 million in March, the group estimated.

Meanwhile, there are reports which claimed that hospitals in China have been overwhelmed with patients and the nation is dealing with large number of funerals.

Dozens of hearses queued outside a Beijing crematorium on Wednesday, Reuters reported, the second time in a week such scenes were seen.
