Donald Trump to see world's biggest cricket stadium, Taj Mahal on first visit to India
Ahmedabad : The United States of America President Donald Trump will be visiting India for the first time and he will be addressing a mega event "Namaste Trump" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the world's biggest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad and then will be visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra, following a meeting in Delhi during his two-day trip.
The White House described Donald Trump's first visit in India as "a democracy seen as a rising economic partner in Asia and an important counterweight to China".
With one week to go, US President's security vehicles have started coming in Ahmedabad.
On Monday afternoon, Donald Trump will be addressing 'Namaste Trump' event with PM Narendra Modi at the newly-built Sadar Vallabhhai Patel stadium at Motera, said to be the world's biggest cricket stadium with a capacity of over 100,000.
"People-to-people contact has always been an important part of India-US relations and making the event a part of US President Donald Trump's visit is a reflection of that," BJP leader Ram Madhav had told news agency ANI on Tuesday.
"The programme is organised as a gesture from our side to reiterate our commitment to take US-India relationship to a higher level," he said.
The Potus along with the first lady will then fly to Agra to see Taj Mahal.
