Historic Step! US House impeaches US President Donald Trump for abuse of power, obstruction
Washington : Donald Trump has become the third United States President to be impeached by the US House of Representatives, charged under the Constitution’s ultimate remedy for high crimes and misdemeanors.
The historic vote split over the charges that the 45th president abused the power of his office by enlisting a foreign government to investigate a political rival ahead of the 2020 election. Donald Trump then faced the second charge of obstructing Congress in its investigation.

The articles of impeachment will now go to the Senate for trial. If he gets acquitted in the Republican led chambers then he will have to re-run for the President's elections.
On Wednesday night, Democrats voted against Donald trump in their bid to save the constitution, while the Republicans stood by their leader in the house. Recently, Donald Trump had tagged the call for impeachment as 'witch hunt'.
The trial against Donald Trump in Senate is likely to begin in January 2020.
Trump, who began Wednesday tweeting his anger at the proceedings, scheduled an evening rally in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He pumped his fist before an enthusiastic crowd, boasted of “tremendous support” in the Republican Party and said, “By the way it doesn’t feel like I’m being impeached.”
