India registers new coronavirus case in Ghaziabad, toll rises to 30

New Delhi : India has reported one more positive case of coronavirus in Ghaziabad, taking the total number of patients to 30. 

According to a report by news agency PTI, a middle-age man has been tested positive of the coronavirus. The patient has a history of travelling to Iran, said the official sources. Besides, a 16-year-old Indian girl has also tested positive for COVID-19 in Dubai.

Including 16 Italian tourists who have been quarantined in the national capital, the total number of infected people has risen to 30 on Thursday.

With increase in number of cases, the government has taken the preventive measures and has applied restrictions on the international flights. India has also suspended visas issued to the foreign travellers from China, Japan, Iran, Italy and South Korea.

"In addition to visa restrictions already in place, passengers travelling from and having visited Italy or Republic of Korea and desirous of entering India will need a certificate of having tested negative for COVID-19 from the designated laboratories authorized by the health authorities of these countries," the Health Ministry on Thursday said in a statement.
