New Delhi : India on Tuesday sent another humanitarian assistance consisting of 2000 MTs of wheat to Afghanistan. With this a total of 8000 MT of wheat has been sent till date. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi announced the update on Twitter.

"Our partnership continues. Despatched fourth convoy of humanitarian assistance consisting of 2000 MTs of wheat to Afghanistan today. Total of 8000 MTs sent as on date."



The first consignment of 2500 MT wheat from India had reached Afghanistan on February 26. The second consignment had reached on March 2, and the third consignment had reached on March 8.

Earlier this month, India had announced that it will send 50,000 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat to Afghanistan overland through Pakistan.
