Oman beach incident: High waves sweep away 5 people, rescue work on

New Delhi : In a deadly incident caught on camera, eight people were seen coming in contact with high waves and tides at rocky shores of Salalah Al Mughsail beach; five of them were swept away into the ocean.

As per latest information, 2 of the five drowned have been found dead while 3 are still missing.

In the visuals, shared on social media, a group of young girls can be seen posing at the shore as the high tides hit them. One girl can be seen getting pulled by a man as others were seen going into the water.

The Oman authorities initially informed that they could only save three out of eight people and five are still missing. Later, a media report said that two of the remaining five have been declared dead and three are still missing.

Meanwhile, people have been advised to stay cautious and not go for swimming and water activities at non-designated areas.
