Revoking H-4 visa work permit in final stage: Donald Trump
New Delhi : A move to revoke H-4 visa work permit is in its final stage, said the Donald Trump administration. The decision is likely to affect tens of thousands of Indians.
The Trump administration is ending the Obama-era rule for H-4 visa that will impact nothing less than 70,000 visa holders who have work permits in the USA.
The proposed rule is currently in final clearance, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told a federal court in a status update.
H-4 visas are issued to the spouses of H-1B visa holders which allow them to get employment in the United States during their period of stay.
The Trump administration yesterday told the court that once the proposal is cleared through the DHS, it will be sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review under Executive Order for regulatory and planning review.
A final notification on the revocation of the rule will be issued in June this year.
