Tsunami warning issued post 8 magnitude earthquake hits Papua New Guinea
New Delhi : Tsunami warning has been issued after US Geological Survey on Saturday reported 8.0 magnitude earthquake striking 97.5 miles of East of Rabual, Papua New Guinea.
The pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued warning of heavy Tsunami waves following quake.
The Tsunami waves are possible within a time bracket of three hours post earthquake along coasts of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island, Pohnpei, Chuuk, Indonesia, Naurua, Kosrae and Vanuatu.
The people in the area have been alerted and asked to wait till further instructions from the local authorities.
