US bans oil import from Russia, gas prices go sky high
Washington : The United States President Joe Biden has announced a ban on oil import from Russia on the backdrop of invasion in Ukraine by Putin.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky extended his greetings to POTUS and asked other countries to go ahead with such bans.
Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter: "Thankful for US and @POTUS personal leadership in striking in the heart of Putin’s war machine and banning oil, gas and coal from US market. Encourage other countries and leaders to follow."
Earlier in the day, Joe Biden addressed a press conference to announce that the US has announced latest sanctions over Russia.
"In a set of fresh sanctions, to attack Russia's main artery, the United States is banning all its oil and gas import from Moscow," Biden said.
He also called it a powerful attack on Russia.
