US: Boeing 737 skids off runway, enters into river near Jacksonville

Florida : A Boeing 737 plane has reportedly skidded off a runway into the river near Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, said Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the plane was "not submerged" and that everyone on board "is alive and accounted for".

The flight was carrying 136 people on board. No reports of any casualty have been received so far.

The flight arriving from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay went into the river at the end of the runway at about 9:40 p.m. local time, the air station said.

The sheriff's tweet was accompanied by two photographs showing the plane bearing the logo of Miami Air International resting in shallow water and fully intact.

The staffers are now trying to control the jet fuel from flowing into the river water.
