Washington : The United States on Tuesday expressed concern over China’s behavior towards its neighbours and hoped for a peaceful resolution to the India-China border stand-off in Ladakh.

Addressing a press conference, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said: "The US is concerned how China has been trying to intimidate its neighbours. The nation will stand by its friends, partners and allies in all situations."

Talking more about the India-China standoff, he said that the US hopes for a peaceful resolution to the matter.

"The US has been closely monitoring the India-China standoff as the two governments are trying to solve the matter with talks. We support direct dialogue and a peaceful solution to the matter," he said.

The reaction from the US comes a day after India and China held talks to discuss issues related to the United Nations Security Council amid the military standoff on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

In a video conference, MEA said that they have notified China about their "India's priorities during its UNSC tenure."

"Both sides discussed a wide range of issues on the UNSC agenda. The Indian delegation briefed the Chinese side on India''s priorities during its UNSC tenure. Both sides agreed to continue their engagement on key issues on the UNSC agenda," it stated further.
