New Delhi : December 1 has been celebrated as World AIDS Day since 1988

Raising awareness about AIDS pandemic caused due to HIV infection is the soul motive

Mourning those who lost their live because of it is also one of the prime reasons

It is one of the eight global public health campaigns marked by WHO

Official records says more than 36 million people have lost their lives due to this disease

Red ribbon is used as the global symbol to show solidarity for the ones who are HIV positive or lost their lives because of it.
