Vancouver : A 24-year-old student from Haryana has been shot dead by unknown miscreants inside an Audi car in Canada’s Vancouver. The incident has been reported on April 12th.

The student has been identified as Chirag Antil. According to an official statement from the police, the body of Chirag was found inside an Audi car after residents heard the sound of gunshots. So far, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is on in the matter.

In 2022, Chirag went to Vancouver from Sonipat in Haryana to pursue an MBA. He had obtained his degree and was working there.

After reports of death, his family has been appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for justice and to make arrangements for bringing his mortal remains back to home for last rites.

According to his brother, Ronit, he had a conversation with Chirag on April 12th morning where he was sounding happy and did not mention any stress.

In a post on X, the Consulate General of India in Vancouver expressed "great sorrow" over the death of Chirag Antil.

"We have learnt with great sorrow about the shooting and killing of an Indian national, Chirag Antil, living in Vancouver. We have approached the concerned Canadian authorities for more information in this regard," it said.
