Good bye 2018, welcome 2019: Films that made big money in box-office

New Delhi : We have already welcomed 2019 and waiting forward to seeing big releases this year. Look back in 2018, we got so many biggest films which have earned immensely in the box-office. No wonder the 3 Khans has disappointed us with their mega-budget movies but the gen-next stars have nailed the year. Come; let's revise the biggest hits of 2018.

After the super flop Jagga Jasoos, Ranbir made a roaring comeback with Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju. The biographical drama which was based on the controversial life of Sanjay Dutt became the biggest hit of the year. However, he could bag the best actor award this year.

  • Padmaavat - Rs 302 crore

The magnum-opus went through several backlashes and criticism before hitting the screens. But the powerful narrative of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the amazing performances of Ranveer, Deepika and Shahid made this period film a huge box office success.

  • 2.0 (Hindi) - Rs 180 crore

No one could guess that the Khiladi of Bollywood would give biggest hit through his Tamil debut. While the film opened to monstrous response in the south due to Rajinikanth's star-power, it was Akki's presence which helped the film to perform well in the northern circuits.

  • Baaghi 2 - Rs 165.50 crore

After giving flops like A Flying Jatt and Munna Michael, Junior Shroff came back on the silver screen and did what he does the best. The masala action entertainer also starring Disha Patani became a huge single-screen hit of the year.

  • Badhaai Ho - Rs 135.60 crore

At the end of the year Ayushmann Khurrana came with a slice-of-life family entertainer Badhaai Ho. With its impressive and heart-winning content, the small-budget venture turned out to be the biggest surprise success of 2018.
