Delhi : Royal Enfield has begun delivery of the much-anticipated Himalayan 450 in India, following its debut at Motoverse 2023. The new Himalayan is available in three variations, with the sole change being the colour schemes. As a result, even the basic variant has all of the functionality. The Himalayan's introductory ex-showroom pricing start at 2.69 lakh and go up to 2.844 lakh.

The new Himalayan is powered by an all-new engine known as the Sherpa 450 from Royal Enfield. It is a single-cylinder powerplant with liquid cooling that develops 39.5 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The motorbike also includes ride-by-wire, which allows Royal Enfield to provide several riding modes. Performance and Eco are the two options. The throttle response is the sole difference between the two.

The new Himalayan also comes with a slew of features. It includes a brand-new TFT instrument cluster that displays all pertinent information. The instrument cluster is controlled by a joystick, and it has Bluetooth connectivity for Tripper Navigation and complete maps.

The 452 now has an all-new twin-spar tubular frame with up-side-down 43 mm forks in the front and a monoshock in the back. Braking is provided by a disc in both the front and back. Dual-channel ABS is available and switchable on the rear wheel.

Both motorcycles have a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. They have spoked wheels, however foreign models will have tubeless spoked wheels, which is a significant difference. The spoked tubeless wheels are now being homologated for the Indian market by Royal Enfield.
