Tork introduces urban variant of Kratos R e-motorcycle, priced at ₹1.67 lakh
Delhi : Pune-based electric two-wheeler startup A more economical model of the electric motorcycle has been introduced by Tork Motors with the debut of the new Kratos R Urban variant. Priced at 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), the Tork Kratos R Urban trim is roughly 20,000 less expensive than the top-spec model. The new model, which has fewer amenities, a lower top speed, and a shorter range than the top model, is reportedly designed with city riders in mind.
The Streaky Red, Oceanic Blue, and Midnight Black solid-color Tork Kratos R Urban trim has the same appearance as the basic model. The same axial flux motor produces 9 kW (12 bhp) of power and a maximum torque of 38 Nm. A 4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the motor. Only the City mode, with a top speed of 70 kmph and a range of more than 100 km, is available in the Kratos-R Urban trim.
Kapil Shelke, founder and CEO of Tork Motors, announced the new trim and stated, "As we expand into new markets in the nation, we realize there is a big variety in riding style and usage pattern of our consumers. The new 'Urban' trim satisfies the needs of an urban commuter who wants uncompromised performance and range at a very accessible price point and the features he needs on a daily basis. The clients will have the option to upgrade within a set time limit even though this makes a strong case for itself.
For the first 30 days following purchase, Tork is providing the full feature stack on the Kratos R Urban trim for free. Reverse mode, fast charging, in-app navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, car localization, anti-theft system, geofencing, charging point location, OTA updates, ride analytics, direct me home lighting, and other features will be included.
Customers will have the option to pay an additional 20,000 yen to keep these capabilities, which is effectively the price difference between the top-spec Kratos R and Kratos R Urban. Customers must pay the difference within six months of the purchase, though. Bookings for the Tork Kratos R Urban trim will begin on August 15, 2023, at the company's experience centers located all throughout the nation. A token worth 999 can be used to make the reservation.
