Delhi : Hyundai has opened the order books for the Aura subcompact sedan and showcased the facelift. Customers who are interested can reserve the car at dealerships or online at Hyundai for a fee of Rs 11,000.

The Aura facelift receives an updated front fascia with a new design grille, bumper, and front fascia, similar to the recently released Grand i10 Nios facelift. With body-colored inserts on the sides that have inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lamps, the grille has grown broader and become more rectangular in appearance. There is now a second, smaller grille between the headlamps. With the exception of the alloy wheels, the rear bumper, tail lamps, and sides, there haven't been many design changes made to the back or sides.

The Aura, however, now has a third stop light and a rear spoiler. Six colors—Polar White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Starry Night (New), Teal Blue, and Fiery Red—will be available for the new Hyundai Aura.

Although Hyundai has added new upholstery colours and patterns as well as new colour trim used on the dashboard centre, the fundamental dashboard design has not changed inside. A full analogue instrument panel with a MID at its centre replaces the previous model's mostly digital instrument panel. Additionally, Hyundai has upgraded the sedan with additional features like USB C fast charging outlets and footwell illumination.

Similar to the Nios, the Aura now comes with extra safety equipment, including front and side airbags that are now standard. The top model will also come standard with features like tyre pressure monitoring, rearview cameras, ESC, stability control, and more.

When it comes to the powertrain lineup, the Aura also does away with the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, keeping only the 1.2-liter gasoline and CNG engines. The petrol engine produces 82 horsepower and 114 Nm, and it may be mated to either an AMT or 5-speed manual transmission. While using CNG, the 1.2 CNG mill produces a lesser 68 horsepower and 95.2 Nm.

There will be a total of 5 variations of the Aura: E, S, SX, SX(O), and SX+. While the CNG engine will only be available in the S and SX models, the petrol engine will be available across all types.

In the subcompact sedan market, the revamped Aura will compete with the Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The revamped subcompact sedan will likely be on exhibit during the 2023 Auto Expo.
