Ford recalls nearly 10 lakh pickup trucks and SUVs in the US: Here's the reason
Delhi : Several Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs with third-row seats are subject to the most recent Ford recall campaign, according to a recall document made public by the NHTSA. The offer also includes 2019-2023 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 Super Duty trucks in SuperCab or normal cab models with the three-passenger front bench seat. The owner's handbook in these vehicles does not provide instructions for tightening and removing these supplementary head restraints, which might increase the risk of harm if the vehicle is involved in an accident. Ford will apparently correct the problem by issuing them an owner's manual supplement including the information. While revealing this information, Ford stated that it is not aware of any mishaps or injuries.
On May 11, the automaker discovered the missing information in the owner's manuals of impacted vehicles. This is not the first time a manufacturer has issued a recall for such an issue; in January of this year, Subaru had to recall the 2022 WRX due to inaccurate information in the owner's handbook.
According to the NHTSA, Ford has issued 29 recalls in 2023, impacting over 40 lakh cars. The automaker concluded 2022 with the highest vehicle recalls in the United States, involving roughly 86 lakh cars. The firm issued two recalls earlier this month for 267,000 Ford and Lincoln automobiles.
