Select Maruti Suzuki cars get costlier from today

New Delhi : Select models of Maruti Suzuki cars have become costlier from today as the company has increased the car prices by upto 4.7 per cent. The new prices have come to effect from today onwards.

Earlier the company had announced that it will be increasing the price of cars from December 2019, effective from January 1, 2020; but later postponed its decision till today. The increase is a part of cyclical price revision due to increase in input costs which has now become a norm in the industry.

In December, the company had released the statement, "The cost of company's vehicles has been impacted adversely due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative for the company to pass on some impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price increase across various models in January 2020. This price increase shall vary for different models" 

However, the company has not disclosed the names of the car models which have been impacted with the price hike.
