Delhi : The wait is over with today's presentation of the second-generation Kodiaq, which Skoda has been constantly teasing. The Czech version, a sibling of the newly unveiled 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, will once more be offered in five- and seven-seat variants and will be considerably bigger than its forerunner. According to previously released technical details, the length will increase by 2.4 inches (61 millimeters), to 187.3 in (4758 mm).

The updated Kodiaq, which has an instantly recognizable evolutionary style, will be available with second-generation matrix LED headlights and a rear light bar to match its Wolfsburg brother. The largest and most well-liked SUV from Skoda will continue to be sold with 17- to 20-inch wheels, with the distance between the axles remaining constant at 110 in (2791 mm). Although front-wheel drive will be the default, more powerful engines will have all-wheel drive (AWD).

After shifting the gear selector to the steering column, the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker boasts that rear passengers will have even greater headroom, legroom, and space between the front massage seats. The cabin will appear finer with the addition of X-shaped ornamental stitching, additional leather, subtle ambient lighting, and perforated seat upholstery. Although the second and third rows have not yet been made public, several features geared towards families are anticipated.

The base 2024 Kodiaq, which is built on the MQB Evo platform, will be powered with a mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI petrol engine with 150 horsepower (110 kW). Customers may upgrade to a 2.0 TSI with 204 horsepower (150 kW) and AWD if that isn't powerful enough. A 2.0 TDI diesel is also available, with either 150 horsepower (110 kW) for FWD or 193 hp (142 kW) for AWD. A seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission sends power to the road regardless of the engine.

The most innovative design is a plug-in hybrid system built on a 1.5 TSI. It has a six-speed DSG, an electric motor, and a 25.7-kWh battery that can support an electric range of more than 62 miles (100 km). It may be charged by DC at up to 50 kW or with AC at 11 kW. Sales of this Kodiaq PHEV will only be available in FWD.

The next-generation Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale in early 2024 after today's global debut.

The inside will see the largest modifications, and Skoda has already showed us the updated dashboard with the "Smart Dials" that the next Superb will also have. These three rotating knobs have 1.25-inch displays inside of them that may be set up to give access to different functions. Between these little screens will be a set of climate controls, but the 13-inch infotainment will house most of the functionality. In addition, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster will be advantageous for the new Kodiaq.
