Delhi : Delhi Traffic Police have advised commuters to drive cautiously with their tail lights on, maintain clean windows and mirrors, and use the defroster and wipers to maximize vision due to the city's heavy fog situation.

To prevent collisions and fatalities, commuters can follow a list of actions provided by the traffic police. The advise said, "Be mindful of your destination and the route; make sure everything is in working order, especially the car's heating system, lights, brakes, tires, windscreen wipers, radiator, and battery."

The traffic cops advised using low-beam headlights to make their cars visible and advised "if possible, keep a high-visibility jacket and torch in the car." In the fog, high beams are reflected back.

When visibility is reduced, turn on your fog lights, slow down, and don't drive past headlights. Additionally, officials said that in order to accommodate for unexpected stops or modifications in the traffic pattern, a safe distance should be kept.

Be patient and use the center divider, painted road markings, pavement markings, and the right edge of the road as your guides. The warning said, "Road may be slick during fog and sporadic rain." "Do not overtake and honk occasionally to signal to other drivers that you are there." Police officers on traffic duty also recommended that drivers pay attention to the road and turn off their music.
