Gadkari unveils world's first BS 6 stage-II 'Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle' Prototype"

Delhi : In the presence of Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Mahendra Nath Pandey, MD and CEO of Toyota Masakazu Yoshimura, MD and CEO of Kirloskar Systems Limited Geetanjali Kirloskar, Ambassador, Diplomats from Japan Embassy, higher officials and advisors, the world's first prototype of the BS 6 Stage II "Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle" developed by Toyota Kirloskar Motor was unveiled on Tuesday in New Delhi.

Speaking at the event, Gadkari stated that ethanol holds promising futures for India as an indigenous, environmentally benign, and renewable fuel.

According to him, the Modi administration's emphasis on ethanol is in line with its goals to double farmers' incomes, transfer them to Urjadata while still providing them with Annadata support, and have a favorable influence on the environment. He claimed that when the ethanol economy reaches 2 lakh crores, agricultural growth will increase from its present 12 percent to 20 percent. Gadkari mentioned an Indian Oil Corporation refinery in Numaligarh, Assam, where bamboo is being used to produce bio ethanol when discussing advances in biofuels.

According to Gadkari, this ground-breaking car is based on the Innova Hycross and was designed to meet India's tighter emission regulations, making it the world's first BS 6 (Stage II) Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle prototype. He said that the prototype's upcoming steps will involve careful revision, homologation, and certification procedures.
