AICTE Chairman felicitates authors of Hindi books and other Indian languages
New Delhi : All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) organized a Technical Textbook Prize Distribution Function in where 12 Authors were felicitated and given prizes worth Rs 5,65,000.
This scheme was started in 1998 in abidance of Official Language Act to promote writing in Hindi and other Indian Languages. AICTE annually gives awards to authors of Hindi, technical subjects at degree, diploma, ITI/technician/translation level textbooks.
The first prize of Rs.1,25,000 was awarded to Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Kumar, author of the book titled “Vyapar Ethos”, a degree level textbook by AICTE at its headquarters. The second prize of Rs 75,000 was given to Mr. Gupta, and the third prize (jointly) of Rs 50,000 to Ashok Goyal and Arjun Kamal for the book "Principles of Design".
Similarly, for (Diploma level original writing), the first prize of Rs.75,000 was awarded to Dilip Gangil for the book "General Mechanical Engineering", Rs.50,000 to Dr. Sadiq Khan for the book "Polytechnic Applied Chemistry". Also, for the book "Environmental Engineering and Safety" K.K. Gupta was given the second prize of Rs 50,000 (jointly). An award of Rs. 40,000 was given to Mr. Manoj Kumar Vashney for the book "Structural Mechanics" and Rs. 40,000 (jointly) to Mr. Jayant Kumar Rai and Mr. Satish Kumar Thakur for the book "Analog Electronic Circuit-Z2".
Additionally, Mr. Ashish Kumar was awarded the first prize of 50,000 thousand for the book titled "Machinist Practical".50,000 each rewarded to Mr. Manoj Kumar Vashney, Dr. Abhinav Vashney, Mr. Paras Kumar Vashney, Mr. Rohit Kumar Vashney, Mr. Arpit Kumar Vashney for the book titled "Design of Steel and Masonry Structures" for degree and diploma level(jointly).
Speaking on the occasion, AICTE Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitaram said , " Till date AICTE has given awards to 120 technical book writers in the last 22 years. In this way, a total of 12 authors were given prizes worth Rs 5,65,000 in the ceremony. "
Member Secretary Prof. Rajeev Kumar said, “writing and translation of technical and scientific books in Hindi is a difficult task, the authors who are doing this work deserves to be appluaded and it is a special service to Hindi language and it is a highly commendable work”.
Prof. T.G. Sitaram further elaborated and said under the New Education Policy ( NEP ) , on the call of Hon'ble Prime Minister and Hon'ble Education Minister, technical education will be started in all 22 other regional languages along with Hindi and for this the work of getting books written and translated will be done”. This work is going on war footing and we will ensure the needful is done.
Council's Member Secretary Prof. Rajeev Kumar said that information about various schemes being run by the Government of India for the promotion of technical education will now be available in Hindi as well.
