New Delhi : The Supreme Court of India on Monday rejected petitions seeking postponement of NEET PG 2023 examination which is scheduled on March 5th, 2023.

According to the petitioners, NBE had issued a notification for NEET PG 2023 on January 7th, 2023, fixing the cut-off date for internship completion as March 31, 2023. Later, on January 13th, the cut-off date was extended to June 30. Again, on February 7th, the cut-off date was further extended to August 11, 2023. Now, when the cut off dates have been extended and the exams are being held on the initially announced date, the newly eligible candidate will not be getting enough time to prepare for the examination.

On Monday, Supreme Court judges Justice S Ravindra Bhat and Justice Dipankar Dutta refuse to entertain any pleas filed by the candidates last Friday. The Court has asked NBE to respond on the pleas.

The reason behind the rejection of please have been credited as the minority of students claiming it. Nearly 2,03,000 students have applied for the examination, and only 6000 students have applied after the internship deadline was extended.
