All India rank 5 candidate Srushti Jayant Deshmukh is the topper among women

New Delhi : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of civil service exam that was conducted from September 28 to October 7, 2018. A total of 759 candidates including 577 men and 182 women have been appointed for various government posts in IAS, IPS, IFS etc. The personal interview rounds along with personality tests began February 4, 2019.

According to the UPSC statement, “Based on the results of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2018 held by the Union Public Service Commission in September-October, 2018 and the interviews for Personality Test held in February-March, 2019"

Kanishak Kataria has topped the UPSC exam, followed by Akshat Jain who secured the all India second rank, while Junaid Ahmed stood third in the Civil Services Final exam. It must be noted that all India rank 5 candidate Srushti Jayant Deshmukh is the topper among women. Also, the all India rank 12 was secured by Namrata Jain who hails from the Naxal affected area Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018 was held on June 3, 2018. A total of 10,65,552 candidates had applied for the exam, out of which only 4,93,972 candidates appeared. The Written (Main) Examination was conducted from September to October 2018. A total of 10,468 candidates were selected to take up the written exam.

In total, 1994 candidates were qualified to take up the personality test which was conducted from February to March 2019. Out of the total 759 candidates, 577 candidates were male and 182 candidates were female. These 759 were recommended by the Commission to be appointed to various Services.
