Mumbai : Hrithik Roshan will be seen on screens with an upcoming movie 'Vikram Vedha', which is being heavily criticized on social media for ditching villages in Uttar Pradesh to shoot the movie in a set in UAE.

Some netizens claimed that Hrithik Roshan asked the producers to shift the shooting set of 'Vikram Vedha' from Uttar Pradesh to UAE; reacting to it several people claimed that this is an insult to the nation and for the reason, this movie must be boycotted.

As the social media post went viral, the filmmakers issued a statement to clear the doubts and controversy mounting over the movie. They have said that some mischievous people are spreading wrong information; the majority of the section has been shot in Indian cities, including UP. It was back in October 2021, when the shooting of some part of the movie was done in UAE due to coronavirus restrictions.

The arrangements for shooting the movie were done under bio bubble setup with UAE.

'Vikram Vedha' is Hindi remake of 2017 Tamil movie with the same name. Inspired from Vikram Betal, the movie is the modern version of a policeman and thief. The shooting for the movie has been completed and the filmmakers are planning to release the movie on September 30, 2022.
