Pretty woman's alternate ending had Julia Roberts killing herself!

Los Angeles : ‘Pretty woman’ a romantic classic movie won the hearts of everyone and has been touted as one of the best Hollywood movie ever.

However, now the bosses have revealed that the iconic film Pretty Woman could have ended VERY differently. And, that would have happened if the original 'darker' script had been used instead.

The several award winning movie became a household name and made Julia Roberts and Richard Gere as the top stars. In the movie Roberts plays a prostitute and Gere a wealthy businessman who fall in love against all the odds.

The 90s box office smash hit had a fairy tale conclusion and was a hit with fans and critics alike.

But now the bosses have revealed that the closing scenes could have been different. 

In the conclusion, Richard Gere's character surprises Robert's by serenading her with flowers and opera music after he climbs her balcony.

Telling about the different planned conclusion, Former Disney studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg said earlier we thought of killing Julia’s character from an overdose.

He said: "I can’t tell you how much time was spent debating. As a script, Pretty Woman was an R-rated movie about a hooker on Hollywood Boulevard. By the way, in the original version — it’s pretty dark — I think she died of an overdose.”

The disclosure was made by stars of the film Garry Marshall, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere who recently appeared together on NBC News' "Today" show.

They added, "So convincing [people] that we should make that at the Walt Disney Co., and that it’s a fairy tale and a princess movie, a lot of people had a hard time seeing it. But, as they say, the rest is history.”
