Caught on camera: Pune teen speeding Porche before hitting two people in accident
Pune : CCTV footage of a Porche car hitting a bike that resulted in death of two people has surfaced online. According to reports, 17-year-old boy was speeding the car and was intoxicated at the time of accident in Kalyani Nagar Junction.
The 17-year-old boy was detained by the police under relevant sections of IPC.
The FIR mentioned that a group of friends was returning home after a party when speeding Porche came and struck their motorbikes. Two of them died on the spot. Meanwhile, another video showed the car rammed into a pavement and locals thrashing the driver as he came out of the car.
Those who died in the accident have been identified as Anis Awadiya (24) and Ashwini Costa (24), both techies from Madhya Pradesh who were residing in Pune.
The teenage driver, however, was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board. The board asked the 17-year-old to work with the traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days, write an essay on the accident, get medical treatment to quit drinking and undergo psychiatric counselling.
Though the boy is a little short of 18 years, the police has urged the court to treat him like an adult as this is a 'henious crime'.
