Congress trashes report of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi's resignation
New Delhi : The Congress party has trashed down the news of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, party leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi tendering their resignations owning the responsibility of poor performance in the recently concluded assembly elections in five states.
A CWC meeting has been scheduled for Sunday to discuss what went wrong in the elections.
A media organization claimed that they are likely to tender their resignations in the meeting; however, Congress leaders instantly trashed down the claims.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Twitter called the news report "completely unfair, mischievous and incorrect."
He also added, "It is unfair for a TV channel to carry such unsubstantiated propaganda stories emanating from imaginary sources at the instance of ruling BJP."
Congress leader B Manickam Tagore in a tweet said that "all those rumourmongers will have egg on their faces tomorrow."
In the recently concluded Assembly Elections, Congress failed to score satisfactory numbers in all five states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa.
