Delhi ends discount on MRP of liquors to contain crowd at shops

New Delhi : The Delhi Excise Department has cancelled the discount/rebate on the MRP of liquor bottles as several wine and beer shops were seen flooded with people, resulting in long queues.

The department has mentioned inconvenience of the local people and hard efforts of maintaining the law and order situation due to huge crowds as a reason behind the discontinuation of rebate on liquor shops.

In the order, the department has warned of a strict action against the shops which will be found selling liquor at discounted rates.

Recently, heavy discounts were being offered at the liquor shop due to which people from NCR region had also been buying it from Delhi.
