Either change yourself or there will be changes: PM Modi warns MPs
New Delhi : With MPs attending the Winter Session as per their conveniences, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday issued a warning saying that either they must change their attitude or he will implement changes.
In a strong warning, PM Narendra Modi told MPs to be sincere, punctual and speak in the house only during their turn.
"Please be regular in attending Parliament and meetings. It is not good for me to continuously stress about this (and treat you) like children. If you don't change yourself, there will be changes in due course," the Prime Minister said at a meeting of the BJP's parliamentary party in Delhi today.
Senior ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi were present.
The BJP's National President, JP Nadda, was also present.
PM Modi’s warning comes at a time when BJP is facing a strong protest from the Opposition leaders over the killing of civilians in an Army ambush at Nagaland.
The government is also facing protests over the suspension of 12 MPs for the Winter Session for their unruly behavior.
Parliament's winter session began November 29 and will continue till December 23, but both Houses have witnessed repeated adjournments so far.
