In Madhya Pradesh, I know only one Mama, the great freedom fighter Tantya Mama: Akash Anand, BSP, National Coordinator
New Delhi : On August 9, 2023, on the occasion of World Indigenous Day, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Madhya Pradesh unit organized a peaceful march in protest against the injustices and discrimination faced by Dalits and Indigenous communities in the country and the state under the leadership of Akash Anand, BSP, National Coordinator.
The march commenced at 11 AM from Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti Ground in Bhopal. During this event, a memorandum was submitted to His Excellency the Governor, addressing the ongoing atrocities and demanding action against the perpetrators.
In this pedestrian march, during the program led by the National Coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Mr. Akash Anand, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and Central Coordinator Shri Er. Ramji Gautam, along with the State President of BSP, Shri Er. Ramakant Pippal, the Central Coordinator of BSP, Mr. Shrikant, and Central Coordinator Mr. Mukesh Ahirwar, along with the regional leaders including Ramesh Davar, Sunil Baghel, Jiyalal Ahirwar, Balakishan Ahirwar, Zonal Coordinators, District Coordinators, Legislative Assembly Committee, Nagar Committee, former legislators and other representatives were present.
They stated that the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has submitted a memorandum to His Excellency the Governor, urging for appropriate steps to establish the rule of law in the state and to take action against criminal elements. Mr. Akash Anand mentioned that, " the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh refers to himself as the people's MAMA. However, I would like to clarify that in Madhya Pradesh, there is only one MAMA, and his name is Tantya MAMA . The people of Madhya Pradesh also know that in the struggle for independence, the great freedom fighter who outwitted the British, and the revered freedom fighter Tantya Bhil, affectionately known as Tantya Mama, are our true MAMA. They are not only Madhya Pradesh's MAMA and guiding light but also ours."
He further said, " discrimination and oppression against tribal and Dalit communities are occurring regularly as well as marginalized and minority groups, are reported every day, it must sadden even Tantya Mama . When the BSP forms the government in the state, we will establish ' Tantya Mama Assistance Fund' , and provide education and essential aid to every underprivileged, oppressed, and disadvantaged child. "
Akash Anand appealled to the people of Madhya Pradesh to be cautious of electoral promises. Through Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and Central Coordinator of BSP, Shri Er. Ramji Gautam, the BSP has reiterated its commitment to social harmony, justice, and holistic development in society through this demonstration. This pedestrian march serves as an excellent platform to advocate for the rights of tribal, Dalit, and marginalized communities, offering a crucial avenue to fight for their rights and empowerment.
Shri Er. Ramakant Pippal, the BSP State President of Madhya Pradesh, stated that recently, there have been incidents that highlight injustices and oppression faced by tribal, Dalit, and marginalized communities. On the occasion of International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, the BSP is making an effort to raise social awareness and garner support against the injustices faced by these communities under the BJP government through this pedestrian march. He aims to provide a collective platform for the protection of the rights of tribal communities.
BSP Treasurer Mr. C.L. Gautam stated that the Madhya Pradesh government has yet to fulfill the valid demand of providing 27 percent reservation to the backward classes, and unemployment has surged drastically. Despite the exposure of corruption scandals within the government, no action has been taken against the culprits. He mentioned that if no action is taken on their demands, a significant protest against the state government will be initiated.
