John Kerry to meet Narendra Modi today
- US Secretary of State John Kerry will be meeting meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday
- On Thursday, he met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley
- The discussions were about "transformative initiatives" in key areas of security and energy
- The meet is aimed at instilling some vigour in bilateral ties
- Ahead of his visit, he had praised Narendra Modi for inviting Nawaz Sharif
- He had also hinted that India and US can and should be indispensable partners for the 21st century
- Modi is scheduled to visit United States of America in September
- The invitation was sent by the US President Barack Obama
- Kerry is also expected to visit Bengaluru and will also be joined by the Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker
