New Delhi : Indian Railways has launched an automatic train protection technology – Kavach. On Friday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted test run to check anti-collision system integrated with Kavach.

He was on board a locomotive that headed towards another locomotive on the same track.

Kavach did its magic and halted the train around 380 meters before the locomotive on the same track, ensuring no collision between the trains.

"Successfully tested head-on collision," tweeted the Railway Minister.

Kavach has been designed by the Indian Railways and helps in maintaining the speed of the train with the help of automatic brakings.
