New Delhi : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on Sunday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government and claimed that they are delinking Aadhaar Cards of people of her state to deprive them of social benefits.

She claimed that people in the state will continue to get the benefits of all state-run schemes even if any person does not have Aadhaar card with him/her.

"BJP led Centre is trying to fetch out social benefits of schemes by deactivating Aadhaar cards of people of Bengal. Many Aadhaar cards have been deactivated in several districts of the state. They are intentionally doing this ahead of polls so that people do not get benefits of Lakshmi Bhandar through banks, free ration," CM Mamta Banerjee said while speaking at a public meet.

"Her government will continue to pay the beneficiaries of the schemes even if they have no Aadhaar card. Not a single beneficiary will be affected," she added.

She also took a jibe at the ongoing farmers protest by Haryana, Punjab. She said that farmers in north are protesting for MSP, while in Bengal there is no such problem.

"I salute farmers protest, and strongly condemn attack on them," the CM said.

She also alleged that several states are not even getting their share of GST collections.
