MP Shashi Tharoor takes part in 'Bikaner House Dialogues'
New Delhi : Efforts to develop New Delhi's Bikaner House in the direction of 'Gateway of Rajasthan' are continuously bearing fruit. In Bikaner House premises, 'Bikaner House Dialogues Series' has been started by 'Bharat Kala Mela' and 'Bikaner House Management Committee' to coordinate Rajasthani art and culture with India and the world of global art.
On the first day of this series, the session “Comprehending Heritage through Contemporary Lens” was presided over by Additional Chief Secretary cum Chief Resident Commissioner Mrs. Shubhra Singh and the session was moderated by Resident Commissioner Mr. Dheeraj Srivastava.
On this occasion, Mrs. Shubhra Singh said that with the inspiration of Chief Minister shri. Ashok Gehlot, Bikaner House is being developed as a hub of art, heritage and culture. With the efforts of the state government, Bikaner House will be made a 'vibrant space' for arts and cultural activities in the national capital.
Mrs. Singh said that we are giving opportunity to well-known artists of the country and abroad as well as young artists to show their art skills in the Bikaner House premises. This will encourage art lovers to come and see the legacy of Bikaner House and know about the efforts of the state government.
While conducting the programme, Resident Commissioner and Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation Mr. Dheeraj Srivastava said that Bikaner House is a very famous place for its historical heritage image. We are now working towards making this a more accessible place for all visitors. The 'Sculpture Park' created here and the 'Bikaner House Dialogues Series' are a part of this thinking.
Bikaner House is emerging as the identity of Rajasthan's traditional art, culture
During the dialogue program at Bikaner House, MP Shri Shashi Tharoor described Bikaner House as the main place for organizing art, culture and literary programs. He said that for the past few years, Bikaner House is getting its separate identity due to the big events of national and international level being organized.
Shri Tharoor interacted with young litterateurs, writers, artists and other distinguished visitors who came to participate in the 'Bikaner House Dialogue' program as a panelist and presented his views in response to the questions asked by them. He said that in Bikaner House, he has participated in many debate programs, visited art gallery and participated in other important events
