New Delhi : In the past days, many cases resulted in passengers getting stuck inside a plane for about 12 hours and even more. The situation caused discomfort to the passengers due to congestion, suffocation, lack of fresh air and lack of water and food. But now, a new rule has been passed that allows passenger to deboard their flight during delays.

A couple of weeks earlier it was seen that one flight was marked out as a passenger received some food that they had to consume sitting on a tarmac. The images had gone viral on social media.

But now, as per the latest airline instructions issued by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BACS) on March 30, the passengers will be allowed to deboard the flight and go to the departure area till flight time.

The new guidelines have been issued to ensure that the passengers are not getting discomfort during their journeys due to flight delays and other reasons.

Senior IPS officer, Zulfiquar Hasan, who is the Director General of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) said on Monday, "Airport operators have to make arrangements for the infrastructure, including for screening, for implementing the guidelines."

However, the new arrangements will require more technical and practical resolutions as the flights gates are once closed then they are put on the departure queue which is one of the reasons why flights avoid deboarding the passengers.

Talking about the baggage problem, Mr Zulfiquar said that in case of plane change, the baggage of passengers can be transferred directly from the old plane to the new plane.
