PM Narendra Modi shares pictures of lighting diyas to express united efforts against COVID-19
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation on Sunday night by lighting diyas to express the united resolve to fight and win the battle against coronavirus.
He shared a couple of pictures showing him lighting the lamps while he stands in the darkness.
He attached a shloka to the post and wrote: "Shubham Karoti Kalyanam, Deepam Shubham Karoti Kalyaannam - Aarogyam Dhana-Sampadaa Shatru-Buddhi-Vinaashaaya Diipa-Jyotir-Namostute."

The shloka has a meaning that a salutation to the light of lamp which brings health, prosperity and kills the bad feelings.
Earlier on Sunday, he had reminded people of India for the exercise with a tweet mentioning #9pm9minutes.
On Friday morning, PM Narendra Modi had urged citizens to switch off their lights and light up lamps, candles and mobile phones for 9 minutes at 9 pm on Sunday night.
