President rule imposed in Arunanchal Pradesh
- President rule has been imposed in Arunachal Pradesh after Cabinet recommendation in unscheduled meeting with Prime Minister.
New Delhi : Pranab Mukherjee signed document last night as Supreme Court heard plea over political crisis in the state.
Huge political reaction from the opposition party Congress is expected over the action.
- While Congress vowed to fight the battle in Court, Delhi Chief Minister called it a BJP strategy to capture the state post election loss.
"Union Cab recommending Prez rule in Arunachal shocking. Murder of Consti on Rep D eve. BJP lost elections.Now acquiring power thro back door," tweets Kejriwal.
- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also condemed the move.
"Strongly condemn Centre's move to impose Prez rule in Arunachal Pradesh, while the matter is still pending before SC's Constitutional Bench," tweets Nitish.
- The turmoil in Arunachal Pradesh began on December 16 after 21 rebel Congress leaders came in to join hands with BJP.
